OVERVIEW OF THE NORWELL SOLAR BARREL HOUSE

CONTEXT:
The site is a nearly 2 acre parcel of undeveloped rural land with old stone walls along a busy road in Norwell MA. The clients wished to design an energy efficient, near net-zero electric house with a unique design.

RESPONSE:
The design, accomplished in collaboration with clients and builder, creates a half-barrel vault roof line for the main living area. The additional massing incorporates bedrooms including a first floor master bedroom to the rear. The conceptual; design was refined to incorporate as much passive solar and renewables as possible.
